Within IFR MARRES, the research units are composed of researchers/teachers involved in the "marine resources" area of the University Côte d'Azur, in this case at the Master's level. The inclusion of master courses within the IFR MARRES, apart from its academic and socio-economic network, provides students with employability in all sectors of the blue growth. It is a real educational ecosystem that is being created: Opportunities and professional meetings are encouraged since there is a proximity between students and researchers in the scientific world. The members of IFR MARRES also take part in the multidisciplinary masters focused on marine resources (100% marine) and/or in other masters of scientific expertise to highlight the interesting aspects of marine resources in a wide range of disciplines.

100% MARINE TRAINING:

  • The MSc MARRES "Science, conservation and innovation of marine resources" is a multidisciplinary master's degree aimed at training students in the responsible management of marine resources while integrating the socio-economic dimension. The students are trained to face the current and emerging challenges related to the oceans and are done through a multidisciplinary education combining science and society.
  • The Master 2 DMAM "Law of the sea and maritime activities" is a professional Master course within the framework of the Master’s "International law and European law". This training allows students to acquire a wide legal view of the law of the sea and maritime activities.

Other trainings:

Finally, the members of the IFR units are also involved in more specialized training, bringing knowledge about the marine world, applicable to other areas. They outline the possible and unconventional applications of marine biology research that can be useful in the health field, for example.

  • The SVS master’s (Life Sciences) is a health-based course and its training is based on the "by and for research" approach, whose main objective is to train the students to work as researchers in the public or private sectors.
  • The master MSc RISKS (Environmental Hazards and Risk Management) is an international master of risk control. The city of Nice and its surrounding areas are subject to extreme climatic events which classify the region as a climate change hotspot (by IPCC), corresponding to an ideal place to study the risks in all of their forms.
  • The F2C master’s (Perfume and Fine Chemistry) aims to provide students with in-depth bases, both theoretical and practical, in the field of “Reactivity and Synthesis Strategies of Organic Chemistry”, with particular emphasis on the conception of a  design, synthesis, and the characterization of molecules of interest in the field of aroma and fragrance chemistry.
